Maui Ocean Center The Aquarium of Hawaii
Come face-to-face with sharks, stingrays, turtles, and thousands of vibrant tropical fish at Maui Ocean Center – The Aquarium of Hawaii! Discover one of the world’s largest collection of live Pacific corals and encounter Hawaii’s marine life, many of which are found nowhere else in the world!
With one of the largest collections of live Pacific corals in the world, 20 daily presentations by marine naturalists, outdoor tide pools, and a 750,000-gallon Open Ocean exhibit with a 240-degree view acrylic tunnel, we hope to provide guests an understanding and appreciation of Hawaii’s marine environment and local culture.
Visiting Maui Ocean Center makes for a perfect half day activity. Or spend longer and do a behind the scenes tour, Native Plant tour or a SHARK Encounter!!
This may interest the teachers or homeschoolers out visiting Maui, MOC offers education resources that can be downloaded. Check that out here.
There are dozens of exhibits, tours and encounters to be found. We’ll feature some of the special events on future posts and you can check out at least one ‘AquariOm’ on our Events Calendar
So much to see and do!
I would give 10 stars if I could! The place is beautiful and very well organized. The exhibits are interesting and informative.
And no worries if you get hungry while visiting, you’ll find Seascape restaurant or Reef Cafe – and of course souvenir shopping! Have a look at Seascape’s lunch menu (PDF).
