Current Weather In Kihei Maui

Here’s a glimpse at the upcoming and current weather In Kihei Maui

The weather is generally very nice in South Maui (Kihei-Wailea) however we do get some winter-like weather during the winter months of December-March. Winter-like being a relative term, it’s tropical winter weather which equates to wetter and at times cooler. Overall, you can expect sunny and warm mixed with trade winds and tropical breezes during the spring, summer and fall months. My recent trip to Maui during late February and early March had some of the coolest weather I’ve ever experienced while visiting Maui. I slept with a blanket on the bed for the first time, ever! I wore a hoodie for much of the trip. I always recommend packing a light sweater or hoodie for ALL months as the evenings can be cooler and the breezes can make it chilly, and trips upcountry can be chilly as well. Generally speaking, expect warm, tropical, sunny.

Current Weather Kihei Maui

One common comment you’ll hear on Maui is that if it’s raining at your location it’s probably sunny on another part of the island. So if Kihei is getting rain, look at heading up to the West side – Lahaina, Kaanapali or Napili. Or look to Paia and see what the weather looks like at Baldwin beach area.

Ho’o nanea!

Of important note: The weather on Maui can change in moments. Sunny and bright can give way to a downpour. If you are at the beach, the winds can kick up and you’ll get sand blasted. Be prepared and be flexible. Ho’o Nanaea my friends! This Hawai’ian phrase means “to pass the time in ease and comfort” or to essentially go-with-the-flow. Be flexible in your plans, have activity alternatives (rainy day activities such as visiting the Maui Ocean Center, visit museums in Lahaina or Wailuku) or go have a Mai Tai at Monkeypod and just enjoy the fact that you are on Maui.
